Mexico City
Wedding Venues
The land of monstera plants and pink walls. Mexico City is filled with an endless amount of beautiful, architecturally interesting, and plant-filled locations to host your wedding. These venues are a few of my favorite.
Nima Local Hotel is a hidden gem on Avenida Colima in the heart of La Roma. Surrounded by 4 different rooms, the three-story center atrium of the hotel contains a beautifully tiled floor and is covered with plants from floor to ceiling. The space is perfect for an intimate wedding of up to 40 people. The warm, hospitable, and attentive staff are able to help with wedding planning and curating a weekend agenda for you and your guests.
Luis Barragan’s pink gem, built on a petrified lava field, is located in the Pedregal neighborhood of Mexico City. This private home is an architectural wonder that’s available to rent out for private events. The patios of the home boast simple lines, a pink palette, a sparkling turquoise pool, and beautiful organic materials like terra cotta pots and stones.
Proyecto Público Prim is a beautiful, historic event space located in the Juarez neighborhood of Mexico City. While the venue is spacious (the guest capacity is 400 people), the abundance of lush plants give the space a cozy and rainforesty feel. Iron railings, checker-tiled floors, and perfectly aging walls create a beautiful, architecturally interesting backdrop.
Located in the hustle and bustle of the city center is the historic Colegio Vizcainas, a school that has been in operation since it was founded in the 18th century. Built in a Spanish Colonial style, it is filled with original architectural character. Within it’s massive campus are 9 different patios that can be rented out for weddings of just about any size — from a small wedding of 40 guests to a large party of 1500 guests. Each patio has a unique look and feel, from open air gardens to glass-enclosed terraces.
Rosetta is a romantic restaurant located in an elegant historic home in La Roma. There are various rooms within the restaurant that could be rented out for a private wedding party, but the most photogenic is by far the main dining room that’s filled with light and plants as soon as you enter the doors.
This beautifully aged Cathedral now operates as an event space. The large gothic windows allow tons of light into the lofty space. Centro Cultural Tudor is best for weddings with over 100 guests.
